Aion 2 Expedition Guide: Blue Breath Island
This guide covers the mechanics and strategies for clearing the Blue Breath Island expedition in Aion 2. If you find your gear or consumables falling short of the expedition's demands, you can buy Aion 2 Kinah to upgrade your equipment or stock up on potions before attempting the run.
1. Requirements
Recommended HP: Approximately 400,000
Note: The boss's HP is not extremely high. The main challenge is mechanics, not damage output.
2. First Boss: 1-Ram
Initial Pattern:
The boss attacks with three hits. The third hit is a tree binding attack through the front that binds you. Not fatal, but avoid if possible.
Electric Floor:
At the end of the pattern, an electric floor appears. It stuns you and deals continuous damage. Avoid standing in it.
Yeonse Lightning:
The boss bounces lightning off an ore. Simply move out of the marked range.
Straight-Line Binding:
Getting hit binds you. The wipe pattern typically follows this.
Preparing for Wipe:
Before the wipe pattern, build up your stagger gauge and have damage buffs ready.
Jump Pattern (Critical):
When the boss jumps, run toward it and stick directly to its back. If you are not sticking to the back, the AoE will hit and stun you.
Damage Positioning:
Always deal damage from behind the boss, never from the front.
Stagger Mechanic:
Deplete the Stagger Gauge to put the boss into a Staggered state. Reaching this point means a clear is nearly guaranteed.
Below 50% HP:
Age Lightning appears on an ore and on one party member. Move out of the affected range immediately. Getting hit stuns you.
Below 30% HP:
The wipe pattern appears again. Gather your stagger skills, stay behind the boss, and deal damage. Dodging or blocking during this phase prevents you from building stagger, which can cause a wipe.
3. Mushroom Mechanic (Second Section)
Mushroom Locations:
Purple: 9 o'clock and 6 o'clock
Green: 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock
Red: Two mushrooms in the four directions
Role Assignments:
Melee players pick up red mushrooms
Ranged players pick up green mushrooms
Purple Mushroom Role:
Players who activated purple mushrooms clear the green area that appears.
Debuff Warning:
Clearing the green area increases German debuff stacks up to 5 stacks. The stacks deal damage quickly. Only clear as many as your healer can handle.
Whirlind Pattern:
After jumping, the boss uses a slap and Whirlind pattern. You can be pushed back and fall, so be careful.
4. Spore Pattern (70% and 30% HP)
At 70% HP:
Projectiles fly in. Increase your maximum energy before this phase begins. Picking up matching colors increases HP amplification by 2% each.
Critical Warning:
Blocking a green projectile causes damage. Move and use HP absorption instead.
Red Pizza Pattern:
Cannot be blocked. Move left and right to eliminate it.
At 30% HP:
The spore pattern repeats. Match your buff color to the orbs you collect. If managing HP is difficult, skipping the pattern is acceptable.
5. Final Boss – Electric Orbs
Wipe Condition:
If the boss eats 10 small electric orbs, a wipe occurs.
Orb Distribution:
Distribute electric orbs evenly among all party members. The debuff cannot be removed and stacking damage is severe. Healers are better suited to eat orbs due to higher health pools.
Large Orb Mechanic:
Approaching a large orb triggers a cross pattern. When the boss raises its front paws and roars, this becomes a circular floor pattern.
Small Orbs:
After each large orb pattern, small orbs appear. Each party member should pick up one.
6. Final Boss – Charge Phase
The boss becomes covered in lightning and charges 3 to 5 times.
Electric Floor Panels:
Appear on both sides. Crossing them deals heavy damage.
Electric Dinosaurs:
Appear on both sides. Blocking their attacks prevents electric stacks, but dodging is better. Debuffs build up regardless.
Tank Advice:
Move to the outer edges during this phase to make positioning easier for your party.
7. Pillar Phase (Most Complex Mechanic)
Sosara (Blue-Glow Pillars):
Avoid the pillars. Getting hit deals heavy damage.
Small Area Removal:
Destroy the small areas that appear.
Wipe Condition:
If all four pillars are destroyed, a wipe triggers immediately. Collect small beads before this happens.
Aggro Management:
The tank must guide the boss away from pillars. Do not let the boss get hit by pillars.
Gaze Mechanic:
The gaze target can change when a new pillar rises. This happens twice during the phase.
Stack Accumulation:
Each broken pillar adds 3 stacks. At 10 stacks, the wipe pattern triggers.
Absolute Wipe:
Once the blue light pattern begins, you cannot attack. This results in an absolute wipe.
Pillar Phase Summary:
The tank must keep the boss away from pillars. Move to the outer edge and avoid encountering pillars entirely.
Final Verdict
Blue Breath Island is a mechanics-driven expedition. At 400,000 HP, the boss's damage is manageable as long as you execute the patterns correctly. The wipe conditions are avoidable with proper coordination. If your current gear is holding your group back, you can buy Aion 2 items from MMOEXP to quickly boost your character's survivability and damage output before heading into the fight:
Build stagger before the first boss's wipe pattern
Distribute electric orbs evenly on the final boss
Never destroy all four pillars during the pillar phase
Clear these mechanics, and the expedition is yours。
